Mythical systems: mathematic and logical theory

The process of elaboration of the symbolic universe leads to exciting insights regarding the search for human emotional security. The symbols end up as explanatory axes of universal reality and on them are constructed myths that form a superstructure for belief systems. Human society is a multi-level system with a material structure (society), an ideological superstructure (belief systems, values, etc.) and a super superstructure with two parts: mythical (origin and justification) and utopic (final goal). All mythical belief systems have a numinous-religious nature.     

Secondary school educators' perceptions and practices in handling cyberbullying among adolescents: A cluster analysis

School educators play an important role in cyberbullying management. Since scarce earlier research indicated low perceived competence of school educators in handling cyberbullying, more insight is needed in what determines their actions and how to improve these practices. This study assessed school educator practices, their perceptions and context factors from a behavior change theoretical framework, and investigated educator clusters related to this. An online survey was conducted among 451 secondary school educators (teachers, principals, school counselors). School educators mostly used recommended actions (i.e. conversations with pupils, enlisting professionals for support, parental involvement, providing supportive victim advice). Four educator clusters were identified: ‘referrers’ (65%), ‘disengaged’ educators (14%), ‘concerned’ educators (12%) and ‘use all means’ educators (9%). The first two clusters were less adept at handling cyberbullying and comprised mostly teachers, particularly indicating a need for training teachers. Our findings show a need for tailored educator training, e.g. by job position, gender, school size and grade. The behavior change theoretical framework can help target educators' particular needs.     

Third order optical nonlinearities characteristics of Disperse Red1 organic dye molecules inside of polymeric nanocapsules

Measuring nonlinear optical response of a specific material in a mixture, not only leads to investigate the behavior of a particular component in various circumstances, but also can be a way to select suitable combination and optimum concentration of additives and therefore obtaining the maximum nonlinear optical signals. In this work, by using dual-arm Z-scan technique, the nonlinear refractive index of Disperse Red1 (DR1) organic dye molecules inside the core of prepared polymeric nanocapsules was measured among various materials which prepared nanocapsules were made of them. Then the measured value was compared with nonlinear refractive index of DR1 solved in dichloromethane.     

探讨仪器分析课程中扫描隧道显微镜演示实验

为了加强本科学生对"中级仪器分析"(双语)课程中的原子和分子尺寸概念的理解,通过演示实验(DEMO)对作为可视化工具的扫描隧道显微镜(STM)的基本原理进行了简要介绍。该DEMO实验配有学生对给定物质进行仪器分析的实际操作,以及从原子和分子水平的计算。在国际合作环境中,我们对实验和计算的细节进行了完善,并帮助学生建立明确的分子和原子概念。最后以分析高度有序的热解石墨(HOPG)的形貌特征作为DEMO和计算演示的例子。     

借鉴逻辑学方法提高临床思维能力

目的：正确的临床决策必须遵循逻辑规律。本文旨在剖析用逻辑学方法提高临床思维训练的可行性。方法：进行临床医学和逻辑学的跨学科整合研究，重点探讨三类常用逻辑方法：演绎法、归纳法和溯因推理法在临床实践中的应用。 结果：发现演绎、溯因和归纳推理分别对应于：①评估临床资料；②提出诊断假设和③完善初步诊断这三种临床思维活动。发现并概括临床思维和医疗实践中包含的逻辑规律，有助于提高思维的准确性、有效性和清晰性。结论：掌握临床思维的逻辑规律，并在中针对性地加以应用，有助于培养医生的思维和决策能力。     

有孔内基础平台的竖直孔空心砖结构设计探讨

孔内基础平台设置在现有模数空心砖孔洞的上部,在孔洞内形成小平台,其能阻止砂浆掉落孔洞内,使空心砖的保温功能得以实现。孔内基础平台的设置将砖缝层平面摩擦改变为曲面摩擦,每一个孔洞的孔内基础砂浆与砖缝层面砂浆合为一体,砖缝层面摩擦力提升,墙体抗震能力提升。     

A novel quasi-oppositional harmony search algorithm and fuzzy logic controller for frequency stabilization of an isolated hybrid power system

The intermittent wind power in isolated hybrid distributed generation (IHDG) may cause serious problems associated with frequency (f) and power (P) fluctuation. Energy storage devices such as battery, super capacitor, and superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) may be used to reduce these fluctuations associated with f and P. This paper presents a study of IHDG power system for improving both f and P deviation profiles with the help of SMES. The studied IHDG power system is consisted of wind turbine generator and diesel engine generator. Both f and P control problems of the studied power system model are addressed in presence or absence of SMES. Fuzzy logic based proportional–integral–derivative (PID) controller with SMES is used for the purpose of minimization of f and P deviations. The different tunable parameters of the PID controller and those of the SMES are tuned by a novel quasi-oppositional harmony search algorithm. Performance study of the IHDG power system model is carried out under different perturbation conditions. The results demonstrate minimum f and P deviations may be achieved by using the proposed fuzzy logic based PID controller along with SMES.     

Protection of power transformer using multi criteria decision-making

Power transformers are protected by different relays that operate independently. Malfunction of each relay has a major role in reducing the reliability of the protection system. In order to mitigate the main drawbacks of the power transformer relays, an overall protection scheme is presented in this paper. This scheme proposes a novel multi criterion algorithm using decision-making based on fuzzy logic. In this paper the outputs of restricted earth fault relay and a directional check unit, are combined with the output of the differential protection relay. Therefore, problems that are pertaining to independent operation of each relay have been mitigated and the relays cover protection blind spots of each other. The improved power transformer protection (IPTP) scheme enhances the sensitivity and reliability of the power transformer protection. Extensive simulations are used to measure the effectiveness and merit of the proposed IPTP relay. The above efforts result in a multi criteria approach for protection of power transformers.     

Compensation of voltage disturbances using PEMFC supported Dynamic Voltage Restorer

The continuity of supply and quality of power are the two main significant aspects of today’s power delivery system. The Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) is a series connected custom power device which improves the quality of power delivered to the consumers. This paper deals with the effectual exploitation of DVR for interconnecting the proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) stack to the grid based on optimized proportional integral (PI) and fuzzy logic (FL) Controller. The real coded Genetic algorithm (GA) is used to optimize the PI controller parameters. The PEMFC operated boost converter is used to boost up the fuel cell output voltage to balance the DC side necessities of the voltage source converter (VSC). The proposed DVR provides balanced and unbalanced voltage sag/swell compensation, harmonic reduction as well as an active power injection to the grid. The designed method also protects the sensitive loads from source side power quality disturbances including short term interruption. In addition, the harmonic compensation performance of the proposed work is validated by comparing with the results of the H^∞ controller based DVR under medium level voltage condition. The simulation results from MATLAB/SIMULINK are discussed to prove the effectiveness of the planned method.
